About Yonderun
Yonderun is a small, independently run catalogue of free idle mining and coin-collecting games for Android. It's edited by one person — Ryan Lim, based in Melbourne — rather than a newsroom, and that's on purpose: most "top free games" lists online are built by recycling press-kit text across dozens of titles nobody actually opened, and this site exists as a smaller, more honest alternative to that.
The catalogue is split into two hubs by theme rather than by a single shared mechanic: Gold Mining Tycoon covers five idle mining games that each layer something different on top of the basic loop — an auto-battling party, a production chain, a card deck, a squad of heroes. Coin Collector Arcade covers four coin-collecting games spanning a real reflex runner, a board game, and two slower idle formats. Every review here comes from real play sessions on a mid-range Android phone, with an editorial score that's kept deliberately separate from — and openly compared against — each game's Google Play rating. There's a full breakdown of how that scoring works on the home page.
Nine games is a deliberately small number. New titles only get added once they've actually been played across several sessions, not skimmed from a store listing, which is also why the site doesn't try to cover every idle-mining or coin-collecting game on Google Play — a shorter list that's genuinely been played beats a long one that hasn't. The Best Idle Miners for Beginners guide and the Car Coin Hunt 3D vs Coin Rush comparison exist for the same reason: some questions are easier to answer by ranking or comparing than in a single review.
